2. Definitions
- “We / Us / Our” — MK Car Mats Ltd
- “You / Your” — the consumer placing an order or using our website
- “Products” — car mats, van mats, boot liners, and accessories we sell
- “Order” — a request to purchase Products submitted through our website
- “Contract” — the agreement formed when we accept your Order
3. Pre-Contract Information (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)
Before you place an order, you should be aware of the following information required under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013:
- All our mats are manufactured to your specific vehicle, material, and style selections — they are custom-made goods
- Because our products are made to your personal specifications, the 14-day cancellation right under Regulation 28(1)(b) does not apply once production has begun
- You may cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it for a full refund, provided production has not yet started — this is a goodwill policy, not a statutory right
- After 24 hours (or once production begins), cancellations cannot be accepted as your mats are already being manufactured to your specifications
- Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (including rights relating to faulty or incorrectly described goods) are not affected by this exclusion
4. Ordering Process
When you place an order:
- You must provide accurate vehicle details (make, model, year) — incorrect details may result in mats that do not fit, which is not our liability
- All orders are subject to acceptance and availability
- An order confirmation email does not constitute acceptance; the contract is formed when we dispatch your goods or confirm acceptance in writing
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, with a full refund if payment has been taken
5. Prices and Payment
All prices are displayed in Pounds Sterling (£). Prices are inclusive of any applicable VAT at the prevailing UK rate. We accept payment via credit/debit card, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, processed securely through Square. Payment is taken at the time of ordering. We do not store your card details.
We will not pass on any additional charges without your prior agreement. The total price shown at checkout is the total you will pay.
6. Delivery
- All mats are made to order. Manufacturing typically takes 1–2 weeks
- Once dispatched, standard delivery by Evri takes 2–3 working days to UK mainland addresses
- Free delivery on orders over £50 to UK mainland; £4.99 for orders under £50
- Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, and Isle of Man: £8.99; may take an additional 2–3 days
- Estimated delivery dates are not guaranteed — time is not of the essence unless expressly agreed in writing
- Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery
- See our Delivery Information page for full details
7. Your Legal Rights (Consumer Rights Act 2015)
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all goods we supply must be:
- Of satisfactory quality — free from defects and reasonably durable
- Fit for purpose — suitable for the intended use
- As described — matching the description and specifications on our website
If your goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose:
- Within 30 days of delivery: you have the right to a full refund (the short-term right to reject)
- After 30 days but within 6 months: we have the right to attempt one repair or replacement first; if that fails, you are entitled to a refund or price reduction
- After 6 months: you must show the fault existed at the time of delivery
These are your statutory rights. Nothing in our policies reduces or replaces these rights.
8. Cancellation and Returns
As noted in Section 3, the 14-day statutory cancellation right does not apply to our goods because they are custom-made to your specifications.
- Cancellations within 24 hours of ordering (before production begins) will receive a full refund as a goodwill gesture
- We accept returns for goods that are faulty, damaged in transit, incorrectly made, or do not fit the vehicle specified in your order
- You must contact us within 30 days of delivery to exercise your right to reject faulty goods
- Returns are not accepted for change of mind or incorrect vehicle information provided at the time of ordering
See our Returns Policy for the full process.
9. Product Quality and Fitment Guarantee
We guarantee our mats will fit the vehicle make, model, and year specified in your order, provided the information you gave us was accurate. Our mats are precision-cut using advanced digitising technology. If your mats do not fit correctly due to a manufacturing error on our part, we will remake them free of charge or provide a full refund. You may be asked to provide photographic evidence of the fitment issue.
